Step 3: Interior Demo: Downstairs

May 2018

To give you a clear picture, we'll start with pictures of each space before we cleaned it out, all the way to each space demoed.

BEDROOM #1

This room will be combined with Bedroom #2 to make a master bed/bath.

BEDROOM #2

This room will be combined with Bedroom #1 to make a master bed/bath.

Below is the view from bedroom #1 looking through the wall into bedroom #2 and bedroom #3 (which will be the office) is beyond that.

The wall between Bedroom #1 and #2 came down so we could combine them to make the master bed/bath:

BEDROOM #3

This room will become the office.

This is standing in Bedroom #3 (the new office), looking through to Bedroom #2 and #1 (the new downstairs master bed/bath).

MAIN ROOM:

Originally there was a bathroom (on the background left of the photo below), a kitchen (background right) and a dining (center) and living room (foreground). The bathroom and kitchen were removed so that this whole space now becomes a dining/living room.

Now, you can see the addition through the kitchen door and the new bigger windows on the right, facing the lake.

MORE AFTER:

Now you can see the wall between the old kitchen and the new addition has been removed and the walls of the bathroom are gone. Just the plumbing is left. And the bathtub. I'm assuming they'll eventually throw that away? They have promised to get the plumbing out of the middle of the dining room, so fingers crossed on that bathtub.

CLOSE UP ON THE WALL BETWEEN THE OLD KITCHEN AND NEW EXPANSION

It was really cool to see, when they took it apart, you can see the original siding gets exposed. This is the original side of the house, at the kitchen door.

This is standing in the new addition looking into what was the old kitchen. They have taken off the gray vinyl siding to reveal the original siding.

Same view, now with the exterior wall removed, totally open between the new addition (kitchen) and the new dining room (old kitchen).
