Step 12: Drywall
September 2018
After insulation comes the drywall... It's starting to look like a real house instead of just an old fishing cabin!!

LIVING/DINING ROOM

same room from the other direction
the end of that same room by the stairs, where the new front door is
The right wall of the living room, with the opening to the new downstairs master bedroom.
In the first picture, the wall on the right was the old bathroom. In the third picture, that has been moved back into what was bedroom #1 to make the master suite.

this picture is taken more straight on, facing the new master suite
this angle is kind of between the other two - that opening is in line with the stairs and creates a new very tiny hallway between the master suite and the living room, allowing for an entrance into the bathroom from the living room or from the master bedroom, behind the stairs, where the water heater is became a hall closet.

DOWNSTAIRS MASTER BEDROOM
where the door became a window
where bedroom #1 (on the other side of the wall below) became the master closet and bathroom
note the multiple entrances to the bathroom so you can enter from the living room or bedroom

Some of the Scriptures can still be seen in the doorways

THE STAIRS
This area has never had walls, only studs, since it was built in the 80s, so this looks soooo different. No lie, below is how it has looked since 1986. For 32 years.
BEFORE / AFTER
UPSTAIRS
These rooms have NEVER had walls! My grandpa put this second story addition on in 1986, but never put actual walls in, just studs. We kids just camped out in here with no walls, no big deal. If anyone needed to change, they just went in the bathrooms, which were walled like normal. That's how it was for 32 years! Until now!
BOYS' ROOM
GIRL'S ROOM
UPSTAIRS MASTER BEDROOM
we added a closet at the far end and a closet on the right foreground and opened up that doorway at the end to make a better entrance to the attic. The picture below is to help you see where the new closet is on the right.
this is a better angle to see the whole room, that right closet isn't in the way
It's starting to look like a real house, y'all! Not just a cabin. We not only have central heat and air and insulation, WE HAVE WALLS!!!
